Christina "Christie" Kimberlin, MBA

Christie joined TEVA’s team as the Office Manager in mid-July 2016. With a strong background in marketing, communications, and business development, Christie’s prior experience is an asset to our business moving forward. She holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Frostburg State University as well as Bachelors’ degrees in Agriculture & Applied Economics and Horticulture from Virginia Tech.

Christie was born and raised just outside Winchester, Virginia. Coming from a family of horse lovers, Christie’s mother was a champion barrel racer in her younger years, while her grandfather and uncle owned and trained thoroughbreds at Charles Town Race Track for several decades.

Growing up, she was extremely active in all things 4-H, FFA, and agriculture. Upon graduating from VA Tech, she managed a gourmet food processing facility, then later served as marketing manager for Valley Farm Credit. She then started her own business, Marketing, Etc., providing business consulting, marketing services, and graphic design to small and start-up businesses, farm markets, agritourism related businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

After living in Maryland for a brief period, her and her husband, Dennis, settled in Loudoun County with their animals...two horses, three dogs, and a cat. Christie loves spending time with her family and critters and enjoys movies, music, photography, and interior design.

Claudia Berrio

Claudia has been in the veterinary field for 20+ years. She has always had a passion for horses and started riding when she was 7 years old growing up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. After moving to Northern Virginia in 2003, Claudia continued training dogs, as well as training and riding horses, while working as a veterinary technician for a small animal practice and emergency hospital.

As opportunities presented themselves to grow in the veterinary field, Claudia accepted a position with Loudoun County Animal Control. She served four amazing years working alongside a great team serving the citizens of our area. Recognizing her passion for animal care, she returned to veterinary medicine, and has spent the past several years working as both a technician and a client service specialist, while volunteering as a part-time barn manager in her spare time.

In order to combine her passion for animals, love of horses, and empathy for others, Claudia proudly joined Total Equine in March 2019.

Her hobbies include training dogs and horses with behavioral concerns and training and riding her horse Athena. Claudia also enjoys photography and the outdoors. At work, she enjoys problem solving, organizing, and business management.

Claudia loves spending time with her family: Laura, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and her faithful thoroughbred companion, Athena.

Katherine "Katie" Cofer

While horses have always been a part of Katie`s life, her formal training began at 18 when she was presented with an opportunity to work with the renowned horse behaviorist and trick trainer, Chantal Corminboeuf-Turvey. Through this year-long internship Katie learned a lot about horse behavior, and effective horse and trainer communications.

Upon completion of her internship, Katie returned home to a non-equine related job. As it happened, however, a co-worker asked Katie to ride her fat, little-used, paint gelding named Chief. Katie was NEVER one to back down from a challenge, and enthusiastically leapt at the chance!

Her first ride on Chief resulted in being bucked off 5 times before the surly and clever Chief resigned himself to being tamed by his new rider.

Four years later, Chief and Katie have an inseparable bond. They continue to perfect their liberty, work on small tricks, and strive for the goal of riding bridle-less.

Katie is thrilled to be part of the TEVA team. She has incorporated horses into every aspect of her life and is so grateful to be surrounded by such knowledge people. Katie continues to expand her own knowledge of horse health and has goals of one day becoming a vet tech.

Victoria "Tori" Socia

Originally from the small Georgia town of Rincon, near Savannah, Tori spent the last 7 years in metro Atlanta for high school and college after her Army dad was transferred to the area. She moved to Northern Virginia in December 2018 and has fallen in love with everything Virginia!

Between playing volleyball and soccer growing up, she also began riding horses when she was 5 years old and has been riding ever since. Injuries ended her soccer career early, but horses have remained a daily part of life through working at barns, exercise riding, and giving lessons.

Tori’s horse, Blue, was one of the first lesson horses she rode at her previous barn and after 4 years of lessons and leasing, Blue officially became hers! At 19 now, he still thinks he’s 4 and keeps Tori on her toes every ride, but she has enjoyed lots of learning, galloping, and every adventure in between!

Outside of horses, Tori has a lifelong love of reading and writing, as well as a large collection of antique typewriters and Polaroid cameras.

Tori joined the TEVA team in June 2019 as a Customer Care Representative and is quickly learning the company philosophies and settling in to daily work routines. She is always smiling and enjoys getting know our wonder family of clients and patients.

Paula Joyce - Business Manager

Paula has been involved in the local community since 2005, and horses for more years than she will admit. She rides in several barns enjoying the benefits of learning different disciplines such as dressage and jumping. She enjoys trail riding and polo as well. She met Jay wile doing a pre-purchase exam on her horse and they've been together ever since.

Paula has a full-time corporate job, but works on all aspects of Total Equine with Dr. Jay. As an economist and getting her MBA, Paula brings business expertise to the table and assists with business development, client relations, process improvement and some day-to-day office management. When time permits, she rides along with Dr. Jay on his farm calls. These are her favorite times because she cherishes caring for animals in need and the outdoors; not to mention quality time with her husband and kids. Assisting Dr. Jay on farm calls also provides her with a different perspective of the business which lends to her business development ideas.
